Is self-study enough for CAT or should I join a coaching institute?

Body

Which coaching institutes are actually worth it (TIME, IMS,CATKing)? Can self-study + mocks from a good source be enough? Please answer!

I cracked CAT 2023 with 98.6 percentile through pure self-study. I didn't join any coaching, but I invested in mock series from CATKing, and analyzed every mock deeply.

Self-study works if you're ready to work on your weak areas consistently. I built my own study schedule and stuck to it. You don’t need coaching, but you do need commitment and strategy.

Honestly, I joined CATKing after being unsure between them and TIME. Turned out to be a good call. I followed their daily dashboard plan, attended the live classes when I could, and then focused a lot on analyzing their mocks.

Their Real mocks were closer to actual CAT than I expected, especially in terms of DILR logic types.

As someone with a 9-6 job, I found CATKing’s flexibility perfect. The recorded sessions meant I could study late nights or weekends. Their one-minute videos on tips, tricks, and CAT exam mindset were underrated gems.

Self-study is possible, sure, but CATKing gave me accountability and motivation. I didn’t feel like I was preparing alone. For the price, it's totally worth it.
