CAT2025

Should I join a coaching institute or is self-study enough for CAT?

Body

To be honest, I am not from an affluent background and cannot afford to get into classes. Can any of you please suggest me on how to approach preparation for the upcoming CAT 2025 without any coaching? is it even manageable?

I used CATKing's videos for self-study. Their videos and mocks were excellent. I didn’t need a classroom setup because I was working. As long as you’re regular, self-prep works, just don’t keep switching materials. Self-study needs strong motivation and a strict schedule. If you’re someone who procrastinates easily, go for coaching. The best thing coaching gave me was a schedule and doubt-solving access.Join coaching if you’re starting late or are weak in all three sections. Otherwise, use Telegram groups, past year papers, mock platforms, and free YouTube content to prep on your own.

I did self-study with YouTube and CATKing mocks. Got 98.8 percentile. Coaching is helpful for structure, but not mandatory. Use a prep calendar and stick to your weekly goals. Coaching helps if you lack discipline or come from a non-math background. I joined CATKing's classes and it gave me the push to cover topics fast. Plus peer discussions help a lot, especially for VARC.
